لماذا؟
في الظلام قد يظهر الأشخاص والدراجون والحيوانات دون إنذار يُذكر، خاصة إن لم يرتدوا ملابس فاتحة. تنص القاعدة 146 من قانون الطريق على القيادة بأسلوب دفاعي والتكيّف مع الطريق والظروف، بتوقّع المخاطر التي لا تراها بوضوح بعد.
In the dark, people, cyclists and animals can appear with little warning, especially if they are not wearing bright clothing. Rule 146 of The Highway Code says you should drive defensively and adapt to the road and conditions, anticipating hazards you cannot yet see clearly.
