لماذا؟
تُظهر القاعدة 126 من قانون الطريق أن مسافة التوقف الإجمالية هي مسافة التفكير (thinking distance) أثناء رد فعلك زائد مسافة الكبح (braking distance) بعد الضغط على الفرامل. وكلتاهما تزداد مع السرعة، ولهذا تتطلب السرعات الأعلى فجوات أطول بكثير.
Rule 126 of The Highway Code shows overall stopping distance as thinking distance (while you react) plus braking distance (once the brakes are on). Both grow with speed, which is why higher speeds need much longer gaps.
