Why is 'coasting' downhill — rolling in neutral or with the clutch down — a bad idea?
لماذا يُعدّ "الانسياب" (coasting) عند النزول — أي التدحرج في وضع محايد أو بضغط القابض — فكرة سيئة؟
- It uses far more fuelيستهلك وقوداً أكثر بكثير

لماذا؟
تحذّر القاعدة 122 من قانون الطريق من أن الانسياب (coasting) يُلغي كبح المحرك ويقلّل تحكمك في سرعة المركبة وتوجيهها. وعند النزول قد يدع سرعتك تتصاعد، مما يطيل المسافة التي تحتاجها للتوقف.
Rule 122 of The Highway Code warns that coasting removes engine braking and reduces your control of the vehicle's speed and steering. On a downhill this can let your speed build up, lengthening how far you need to stop.
