Hazard awareness
Why is a hidden dip in the road a hazard when you want to overtake?
- It always hides a speed camera
- It makes your car use more fuel
- An oncoming vehicle could be hidden in it, out of your sightCorrect
- It has no effect on overtaking
Why?
Rule 166 of The Highway Code says do not overtake if you cannot see far enough ahead to be sure it is safe. A dip or hollow can hide an oncoming vehicle, so wait until you have a clear view.
