لماذا؟
غالبًا ما تستخدم الطرق السريعة الذكية كتف الطريق السابق كحارة سير، فلا يوجد مكان متصل للتوقف. تنص القاعدة 270 من قانون الطريق على محاولة الوصول إلى منطقة طوارئ (مميزة بلافتات SOS زرقاء) أو المخرج التالي، ثم استخدام هاتف SOS المجاني لطلب المساعدة.
Smart motorways often use the former hard shoulder as a running lane, so there is no continuous place to stop. Rule 270 of The Highway Code says you should try to reach an emergency area (marked with blue SOS signs) or the next exit, then use the free SOS phone to get help.
