Traffic ahead on the motorway suddenly slows to a stop. When may you briefly use your hazard warning lights?
يتباطأ السير أمامك على الطريق السريع فجأة حتى التوقف. متى يجوز أن تستخدم أضواء التحذير (hazard warning lights) لوقت قصير؟
- To warn following drivers that you are turning offلتحذير السائقين خلفك أنك ستنعطف للخروج
- Any time you want other drivers to give wayفي أي وقت تريد أن يفسح لك الآخرون
- To thank a driver who let you mergeلشكر سائق سمح لك بالاندماج

لماذا؟
عادةً يجب ألا تستخدم أضواء التحذير وأنت تسير. تسمح القاعدة 116 من قانون الطريق باستثناء واحد: على طريق سريع أو طريق مزدوج غير مقيّد يجوز تشغيلها لوقت قصير لتحذير من خلفك من خطر أو طابور أمامك. استخدمها فقط بما يكفي لأن تُرى.
Normally you must not use hazard lights while moving. Rule 116 of The Highway Code allows one exception: on a motorway or unrestricted dual carriageway you may switch them on briefly to warn drivers behind of a hazard or queue ahead. Use them only long enough to be seen.
