What does the law say about fitting tyres of different types, such as radial and cross-ply, on your car?
ماذا يقول القانون عن تركيب إطارات من أنواع مختلفة، مثل الشعاعي (radial) والقطري (cross-ply)، في سيارتك؟
- You may mix any tyres in any position you likeيمكنك خلط أي إطارات في أي موضع تشاء
- Different types must always be paired on the same axleيجب دائمًا وضع النوعين المختلفين معًا على المحور نفسه
- Cross-ply tyres must always go on the rear axleيجب أن تكون إطارات (cross-ply) دائمًا على المحور الخلفي

لماذا؟
تتصرّف إطارات (radial) و(cross-ply) بشكل مختلف تحت الحمل، فخلطها على محور واحد قد يجعل السيارة غير مستقرة. وهذا مخالف للقانون، ويشترط الملحق السادس (Annex 6) من قانون الطريق أن تكون الإطارات بحالة جيدة وقانونية، لذا اجعل إطاري كل محور من النوع نفسه.
Radial and cross-ply tyres behave differently under load, so mixing them on one axle can make the car unstable. It is illegal, and Annex 6 of The Highway Code requires tyres to be in good, legal condition, so keep both tyres on each axle the same type.
