The temperature gauge moves into the red while you are driving. What should you do?
يتحرّك مؤشّر الحرارة إلى المنطقة الحمراء أثناء القيادة. ماذا يجب أن تفعل؟
- Speed up to force more air over the engineتزيد السرعة لدفع مزيد من الهواء على المحرك
- Turn the heater off and carry on for hoursتُطفئ المدفأة وتواصل القيادة ساعات

لماذا؟
القراءة في المنطقة الحمراء تعني أن المحرك يزداد سخونة (overheating)، وقد يتعرّض لضرر بالغ إن واصلت. يشمل الملحق السادس (Annex 6) من قانون الطريق الحفاظ على سائل التبريد (coolant) سليمًا، لذا توقّف بأمان ودع المحرك يبرد؛ ولا تفتح غطاء الرادياتير الساخن أبدًا، فقد يندفع منه سائل تبريد يسبّب حروقًا.
A reading in the red means the engine is overheating, which can cause serious damage if you keep going. Annex 6 of The Highway Code includes keeping the coolant right, so stop safely and let the engine cool; never open a hot radiator cap, as scalding coolant can spray out.
