You are towing a caravan and it begins to snake (swing from side to side). What should you do?
أنت تقطر كرفاناً (caravan) وبدأ يتمايل من جانب إلى آخر. ماذا يجب أن تفعل؟
- Brake hard at once to stop the swingingاكبح بقوة فوراً لإيقاف التمايل
- Ease off the accelerator and slow down gentlyخفّف الضغط عن دوّاسة الوقود وأبطئ بلطفإجابة صحيحة
- Steer sharply against the swingوجّه بحدّة عكس اتجاه التمايل
- Speed up to pull the caravan straightزد سرعتك لتعديل الكرفان
لماذا؟
تنص القاعدة 250 من قانون الطريق على أنه إذا بدأت المقطورة أو الكرفان بالتمايل (snake)، فخفّف الضغط عن دوّاسة الوقود وأبطئ بلطف. لا تكبح بعنف ولا توجّه بحدّة، فذلك قد يزيد التمايل سوءاً.
Rule 250 of The Highway Code says if a trailer or caravan starts to snake, ease off the accelerator and reduce speed gently. Do not brake harshly or steer sharply, as that can make the swinging worse.
