When are you allowed to switch on your front or rear fog lights?
متى يُسمح لك بتشغيل أضواء الضباب (fog lights) الأمامية أو الخلفية؟
- At any time during autumn and winterفي أي وقت خلال الخريف والشتاء
- Only when visibility is seriously reduced, generally to 100 metres or lessفقط حين تنخفض الرؤية بشدة، عمومًا إلى 100 متر أو أقلإجابة صحيحة
- Whenever it is raining lightlyكلما هطل مطر خفيف

لماذا؟
تنص القاعدتان 226 و236 من قانون الطريق على أنه لا يجوز استخدام أضواء الضباب (fog lights) إلا حين تنخفض الرؤية بشدة، عمومًا حين لا تستطيع الرؤية لأكثر من 100 متر، ويجب إطفاؤها عند تحسّن الرؤية حتى لا تُبهر الآخرين أو تُخفي أضواء فراملك.
Rules 226 and 236 of The Highway Code say you may use fog lights only when visibility is seriously reduced, generally when you cannot see more than 100 metres, and you MUST switch them off when visibility improves so they do not dazzle others or mask your brake lights.
