You have just driven slowly through a ford or deep flood water. What should you do next?

- Speed up straight away to dry the engineأسرِع فورًا لتجفيف المحرك

لماذا؟
الماء على الفرامل يجعلها أقل فاعلية بكثير حتى يزول. تنص القاعدة 121 من قانون الطريق على أنه بعد القيادة عبر مخاضة (ford) أو فيضان يجب أن تختبر فراملك (test your brakes) برفق أولاً قبل أن تزيد سرعتك. وإن كانت ضعيفة، جفّفها بالضغط الخفيف عليها أثناء القيادة ببطء.
Water on the brakes makes them far less effective until it clears. Rule 121 of The Highway Code says after driving through a ford or flood you should test your brakes, gently at first, before you build up speed. If they are weak, dry them by pressing lightly while driving slowly.
