An emergency vehicle needs to pass. Where should you avoid stopping to let it by?

Why?

Rule 219 of The Highway Code says to let emergency vehicles pass when safe, but avoid stopping before the brow of a hill, a bend or a narrow section where the driver cannot see or get past. Do not mount the kerb or brake harshly.
