The learner driver in front stalls the car at a junction. What is the best thing to do?

  • Sound your horn repeatedly
  • Drive very close to hurry them
  • Overtake dangerously on the junction
  • Wait patiently and give them time to move off
    Correct

Why?

Rule 217 of The Highway Code asks you to be particularly patient with learner and inexperienced drivers, who may not react as quickly. Hooting or pressuring them can make things worse, so give them time and space.
