It is raining hard and there are pedestrians on the pavement beside a large puddle. What should a considerate driver do?
تمطر بغزارة وهناك مشاة على الرصيف بجوار بركة ماء كبيرة. ما الذي يفعله السائق المراعي؟
- Keep your speed so you are past them quicklyحافظ على سرعتك لتتجاوزهم بسرعة
- Drive through the puddle because the road is yoursقد عبر البركة لأن الطريق لك
- Sound your horn to warn them and carry onاستخدم البوق لتحذيرهم وتابع طريقك
- Slow down so you do not soak them with sprayخفف سرعتك حتى لا تبلّلهم برذاذ الماءإجابة صحيحة
لماذا؟
تطلب منك القاعدة 147 من قانون الطريق أن تكون مراعياً لمستخدمي الطريق الآخرين. القيادة بسرعة عبر بركة ماء وبلّ المشاة على الرصيف قيادة قليلة المراعاة، لذا خفف سرعتك في الطقس المبلل لتجنّب رشّ المشاة (splashing).
Rule 147 of The Highway Code asks you to be considerate towards other road users. Driving fast through a puddle and drenching people on the pavement is inconsiderate driving, so slow down in the wet to avoid splashing pedestrians.
