Attitude
It is raining hard and there are pedestrians on the pavement beside a large puddle. What should a considerate driver do?
- Keep your speed so you are past them quickly
- Drive through the puddle because the road is yours
- Sound your horn to warn them and carry on
- Slow down so you do not soak them with sprayCorrect
Why?
Rule 147 of The Highway Code asks you to be considerate towards other road users. Driving fast through a puddle and drenching people on the pavement is inconsiderate driving, so slow down in the wet to avoid splashing pedestrians.
