Attitude

You are towing a caravan on a country A-road and a long line of traffic has built up behind you. What should you do?

  • Pull in where it is safe and let the traffic pass
    Correct
  • Keep going and ignore the queue behind you
  • Slow right down to force them to stay well back
  • Wave them past even on a blind bend

Why?

Rule 169 of The Highway Code says do not hold up a long queue of traffic, especially if you are driving a large or slow-moving vehicle such as one towing a caravan. Check your mirrors and, where it is safe, pull in and let the traffic pass.
