You smell burning and smoke starts coming from the dashboard as you drive. What should you do?

لماذا؟
الدخان من لوحة القيادة يعني غالباً عطلاً كهربائياً (electrical fault) قد يؤدي بسرعة إلى حريق. وينصح دليل «القيادة: المهارات الأساسية» (DES) بأن تتوقّف حالما يكون ذلك آمناً، وتطفئ المحرك، وتخرج الجميع بعيداً عن المركبة، وتتصل بخدمة الإطفاء بدلاً من فحصها بنفسك.
Smoke from the dashboard usually means an electrical fault that can quickly lead to fire. Driving – the essential skills advises you to stop as soon as it is safe, switch off the engine, get everyone out and well away from the vehicle, and call the fire service rather than investigating it yourself.
