You have anti-lock brakes (ABS) and need to stop in an emergency. How should you use the brake?
سيارتك مزوّدة بفرامل مانعة للانغلاق (ABS) وتحتاج للتوقف في حالة طارئة. كيف يجب أن تستخدم الفرامل؟
- Apply firm, continuous pressure to the pedalاضغط دوّاسة الفرامل بثبات وباستمرارإجابة صحيحة
- Pump the brake pedal on and offاضغط الدوّاسة وارفعها بالتناوب

لماذا؟
تنص القاعدة 120 من قانون الطريق على أنه في حالة طارئة في مركبة مزوّدة بـ(ABS) تضغط دوّاسة الفرامل بثبات ولا ترفع الضغط حتى تبطئ بما يكفي؛ وهذا يتيح للنظام إبقاء العجلات دائرة فتظل قادرًا على التوجيه.
Rule 120 of The Highway Code says that in an emergency in a vehicle with ABS you should apply the footbrake firmly and not release the pressure until you have slowed enough. This lets the system keep the wheels turning so you can still steer.
