Alertness

As you reach a roundabout, to which traffic must you normally give priority?

  • Traffic coming from your immediate right
    Correct
  • Traffic coming from your left
  • Traffic already leaving the roundabout
  • Whichever vehicle is largest

Why?

Vehicles already on the roundabout to your right are crossing your path, so you must let them go first unless signs say otherwise. Rule 185 of The Highway Code says you should give priority to traffic approaching from your right, and watch out for all other road users already on the roundabout.
