The car ahead is weaving slightly and moving slowly, as if something is wrong. What is the safest thing to do?
- Overtake quickly to get away from it
- Drive close behind to encourage it to speed up
- Keep well back so you can see and react in good timeCorrect

Why?
Rule 126 of The Highway Code says always keep a safe distance so you have time to react. A vehicle that is weaving may have a fault such as a flat tyre, or an impaired driver, so hang back and be ready for sudden movements or debris.
