You have stopped to help at a serious crash and called 999. What should you do next?

Why?
Rule 283 of The Highway Code says that at the scene of an incident you should stay until the emergency services arrive, as long as it is safe to do so. You can give them information and, if trained, first aid, while making sure you don't put yourself in danger.
