Motorway rules
At night on a motorway, what do red reflective road studs mark?
- The middle of the road
- The left-hand edge of the carriagewayCorrect
- The central reservation
- The entrance to a slip road
Why?
Reflective studs help you see the road layout in the dark. Rule 132 of The Highway Code says red studs mark the left edge of the road, white studs mark the lanes, amber studs mark the central reservation, and green studs mark slip road and lay-by entrances.
