Road and traffic signs

End of minimum speed requirement

What does this sign mean?

  • End of the 30 mph maximum limit
  • End of the 30 mph minimum speed requirement
    Correct
  • Start of a 30 mph minimum speed
  • No vehicles travelling under 30 mph

Why?

A blue circle with '30' sets a minimum speed, and the red diagonal line ends that requirement. You no longer have to keep your speed at or above 30 mph — the normal speed limits still apply.
