When you park on a road, where should children get out of the car?

  • On the side nearest passing traffic
  • Through the boot at the back
  • On the kerb side, away from traffic
    Correct
  • Wherever is quickest for them

Why?

Rule 102 of The Highway Code says you should make sure children get out of the vehicle through a door next to the kerb. This keeps them away from passing traffic on the road side, where they could be hit.
