How can badly under-inflated tyres affect your car?
كيف يمكن أن تؤثر الإطارات ناقصة النفخ بشدة (under-inflated) على سيارتك؟
- They make the steering feel lighter and quickerتجعل التوجيه أخف وأسرع استجابة
- They improve grip and shorten your braking distanceتحسّن التماسك وتقصّر مسافة الفرملة

لماذا؟
الإطار الذي يحتوي على هواء أقل من اللازم يجرّ على الطريق، فيحرق المحرك وقودًا أكثر ويهترئ الإطار أسرع وقد ترتفع حرارته. كما يجعل السيارة تبدو ثقيلة وأقل ثباتًا خاصة في المنعطفات. ينص الملحق السادس (Annex 6) من قانون الطريق على وجوب الحفاظ على ضغط الإطارات (tyre pressure) الصحيح، لذا افحص الضغط بانتظام والإطارات باردة.
A tyre with too little air drags on the road, so the engine burns more fuel and the tyre wears out faster and can overheat. It also makes the car feel heavy and less stable, especially in a bend. Annex 6 of The Highway Code says you must keep tyres correctly inflated, so check the pressures regularly when the tyres are cold.
