You are driving fast on a wet motorway. What happens to your braking distance?
أنت تقود بسرعة على طريق سريع مبلّل. ماذا يحدث لمسافة الكبح (braking distance) لديك؟
- It is much longer than on a dry roadتصبح أطول بكثير من الطريق الجافإجابة صحيحة

لماذا؟
تحذّر القاعدة 227 من قانون الطريق من أن مسافات التوقف في المطر تتضاعف على الأقل لأن الإطارات تفقد بعض التماسك (grip). وعند السرعات العالية على الطريق السريع تكون مسافة الكبح طويلة أصلاً، فيزيدها الطريق المبلّل طولاً أكبر.
Rule 227 of The Highway Code warns that in the wet stopping distances are at least doubled because tyres have less grip. At high motorway speeds the braking part is already long, so wet roads make it much longer still.
