Attitude

Parked cars are blocking your side of the road and a vehicle is coming the other way. What should you do?

  • Drive on because you are already moving
  • Expect the oncoming driver to reverse for you
  • Sound your horn and squeeze through the gap
  • Give way to the oncoming vehicle before passing
    Correct

Why?

Rule 163 says you should give way to oncoming vehicles before passing parked vehicles or other obstructions on your side of the road. The obstruction is on your side, so it is your job to wait, not theirs.
