Attitude

You approach a mini-roundabout at the same time as a vehicle on your right. What is the correct and courteous thing to do?

  • Drive straight over the central marking without slowing
  • Give way to the vehicle coming from your right
    Correct
  • Assume oncoming traffic will always wait for you
  • Speed up to get across before the vehicle on your right

Why?

Rule 188 of The Highway Code says you should treat a mini-roundabout like any other roundabout and give way to traffic from your right. There is less room and less time to signal, so approach slowly, be ready to give way and pass round the central marking.
