Where can you see which vehicle categories you are allowed to drive?

On the vehicle's tax record
On the MOT certificate
On the back of your photocard driving licence
Correct
On the insurance certificate only

Why?

The categories you are entitled to drive, such as B or B+E, are shown as codes on the back of your photocard driving licence. Checking them makes sure you only drive vehicles you are licensed for. The licence is one of the documents in Annex 3 of The Highway Code.
