Your car breaks down on an ordinary road and is partly blocking traffic. What should you switch on?

Why?
Rule 276 of The Highway Code says that if your broken-down vehicle is causing an obstruction on an ordinary road you should warn other traffic by using your hazard warning lights. You can also place a warning triangle at least 45 metres behind the vehicle.
