Your car breaks down on an ordinary road and is partly blocking traffic. What should you switch on?

Your headlights on full beam
Your hazard warning lights
Correct
Your rear fog light on its own
Your left indicator, left flashing all the time

Why?

Rule 276 of The Highway Code says that if your broken-down vehicle is causing an obstruction on an ordinary road you should warn other traffic by using your hazard warning lights. You can also place a warning triangle at least 45 metres behind the vehicle.
