What does this sign mean?
- Keep to the left

Why?
A red ring with a red bar across the arrow is a prohibition — here it means no left turn, so you must not turn left at this point. Circular red signs tell you what you must NOT do. Rule 109 of The Highway Code requires you to obey them.
