White arrows in your lane point to the left as you near a junction. What should you do?
- Speed up to pass the junction
- Ignore them if your sat-nav says otherwise
- Move into the lane for the direction you want, in good timeCorrect
- Stop until the arrows change
Why?
Lane arrows painted on the road tell you which lane leads where at a junction. Get into the correct lane for your route in good time and follow the arrow's direction. The Highway Code's traffic signs and road markings guidance covers these lane markings.
