You cannot find a space. Why should you not park with your car partly on the pavement?

It uses more fuel to mount the kerb
The kerb may scratch your tyres
It always damages the road surface
It can block pedestrians, wheelchair users and people with prams

Why?

Rule 244 of The Highway Code says you must not park on the pavement in London or Scotland, and should not do so elsewhere unless signs allow it, because it obstructs pedestrians, wheelchair users, people with prams and those with sight problems.
