A school crossing patrol steps into the road and shows a STOP sign. What must you do?

  • Slow down but keep rolling past
  • Stop and wait until the sign is taken away

  • Drive on if no children are crossing yet

Why?

Rule 105 of The Highway Code says you must obey signals given by a school crossing patrol. When they show a STOP sign you must stop and wait until they lower it and signal that it is safe to move on.
