In fog, another driver is following very close behind you. What should you not do?

Accelerate to get away from them
Correct
Keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front
Use your brakes gently and in good time
Slow down smoothly if you need to

Why?

Rule 235 of The Highway Code says in fog you should not accelerate to get away from a vehicle that is too close behind. Keep your own safe distance in front and brake gently and early so your brake lights warn the driver behind.
