Vehicle handling
You are approaching road humps and other traffic-calming features. What should you do?
- Speed up between the humps to save time
- Drive on the wrong side to avoid the humps
- Sound your horn as a warning
- Reduce your speed and keep it low along the whole stretchCorrect
Why?
Rule 153 of The Highway Code says traffic-calming features such as road humps, chicanes and narrowings are there to slow you down. Reduce your speed as you approach and maintain a reduced speed along the whole calmed stretch.
