Vehicle loading
You've fixed a tall load on your roof rack. What extra danger must you watch for?
- The car will suddenly use less fuel
- Low bridges, car park barriers and garage entrancesCorrect
- Your brakes becoming more powerful
- The steering becoming lighter
Why?
Rule 98 of The Highway Code makes you responsible for your load. A load on the roof adds to the height of your vehicle, so you must watch for low bridges, height barriers and low garage or car park entrances that you could strike.
