Vulnerable road users

Where should you avoid parking so you do not block the way for wheelchair users and people with prams?

  • Next to a bus stop
  • On a hill with a steep slope
  • Across a dropped kerb at the edge of the pavement
    Correct
  • Facing against the direction of traffic

Why?

A dropped kerb is where wheelchair users and people with prams get on and off the pavement. Rule 243 of The Highway Code says you must not stop or park where the kerb has been lowered to help them.
