You are driving at night and are dazzled by the headlights of an oncoming vehicle. What should you do?
تقود ليلاً وتُبهرك أضواء مركبة قادمة من الاتجاه المعاكس. ماذا يجب أن تفعل؟
- Look towards the left kerb and keep your speed upانظر نحو الرصيف الأيسر وحافظ على سرعتك
- Slow down, and stop if necessaryخفّف السرعة، وتوقّف إذا لزم الأمرإجابة صحيحة
- Flash your main beam back at the other driverأومض بالضوء العالي (main beam) نحو السائق الآخر
- Close your eyes briefly until the vehicle passesأغمض عينيك لحظة حتى تمرّ المركبة
لماذا؟
إذا أُبهرت فلن تستطيع تقدير الطريق أمامك، لذا يجب تقليل السرعة حتى ترى بوضوح مجدداً. تنص القاعدة 115 من قانون الطريق على أنه إذا أبهرتك أضواء المركبات القادمة، فعليك تخفيف السرعة والتوقف عند الضرورة.
If you are dazzled you cannot judge the road ahead, so you must reduce speed until you can see clearly again. Rule 115 of The Highway Code says that if you are dazzled by oncoming headlights, you should slow down and, if necessary, stop.
