You have to drive through a stretch of shallow floodwater on the road. How should you do it?

لماذا؟
يذكر دليل «القيادة: المهارات الأساسية» (DES) أن تقود عبر ماء الفيضان ببطء في غيار منخفض، مع إبقاء دوران المحرك مرتفعاً كي لا يدخل الماء إلى العادم. والفرامل المبتلّة أقلّ فاعلية، لذا اختبرها برفق بعد خروجك من الماء وجفّفها بالكبح الخفيف.
Driving – the essential skills says to drive through floodwater slowly in a low gear, keeping the engine speed up so water does not enter the exhaust. Wet brakes are less effective, so test them gently once you are clear of the water and dry them by braking lightly.
