Alertness
You're using a satnav while driving. What should you do to stay properly in control?
- Set your destination and adjust the volume before you set offCorrect
- Programme the route while stopped at traffic lights
- Hold the satnav in your hand so you can see it more clearly
- Keep glancing at the screen whenever it gives an instruction
Why?
Rule 148 of The Highway Code warns that a driver's attention while driving must not be diverted by things like satnavs, in-vehicle technology, or eating and drinking. Set up your route and adjust settings before you set off, so you don't need to look away from the road once you're moving.
