What should you do before you start to reverse your vehicle?

- Switch on your hazard lights and reverse quickly
Why?
You are moving towards an area you cannot see well, so all-round observation protects people who could be behind you. Rule 202 of The Highway Code says you must look carefully before you start reversing, using all your mirrors and checking the blind spot behind you.
