Why?

A car towing a caravan or trailer has a lower motorway limit of 60 mph, not the 70 mph for a car alone. This is part of the speed limits in rule 124 of The Highway Code. Rule 265 also keeps vehicles that are towing out of the right-hand lane on a three-lane motorway.
