You are driving on a one-way street. What does the Highway Code tell you to do?
- Drive on either the left or the right, in any direction
- Travel in the direction shown by the signs and pick your exit lane earlyCorrect
- Give way to all traffic coming towards you
- Stop and reverse if you miss your turning
Why?
Rule 143 of The Highway Code says on a one-way street all traffic must travel in the direction shown by the signs. Choose the correct lane for your exit as early as you can, and watch for buses or cycles that may have a contraflow lane.
