You are dazzled by the headlights of an oncoming vehicle at night. What should you do?
- Look towards the other lights until you can see
- Switch on your main beam to match them
- Close your eyes for a moment
- Slow down and, if necessary, stopCorrect
Why?
Rule 115 of The Highway Code says that if you are dazzled by oncoming headlights you should slow down and, if necessary, stop. Do not retaliate with your own main beam, which would only dazzle the other driver in return.
