Vehicle handling

You are using a driver assistance system such as cruise control. Who is responsible for controlling the vehicle?

  • The system, once it is switched on
  • The vehicle manufacturer
  • You, the driver, at all times
    Correct
  • Nobody, while the system is active

Why?

Rule 150 of The Highway Code says driver assistance systems are there to help, but you MUST have full control of them and stay responsible for the vehicle at all times, never letting them reduce your concentration.
