Vehicle loading

A load carried on your car must never cover which of these?

  • The sunroof
  • The passenger door
  • Your number plate or lights
    Correct
  • The fuel filler cap

Why?

Rule 98 of The Highway Code requires your vehicle to stay roadworthy with lights working and visible. A load that hides your number plate or lights means other drivers cannot see your signals and the vehicle is illegal, so the load must never cover them.
