A casualty's arm is bleeding badly but is not broken. As well as pressing on the wound, what else helps?

- Lowering the arm below the heartخفض الذراع إلى أسفل مستوى القلب

لماذا؟
ينص الملحق السابع (Annex 7) من قانون الطريق على أنه إذا كان أحد الأطراف ينزف دون أن يكون مكسوراً، فإن رفعه فوق مستوى القلب يقلّل تدفّق الدم إلى الجرح. اجمع هذا مع الضغط بقوة على الجرح للسيطرة على النزيف.
Annex 7 of The Highway Code says that if a limb is bleeding but not broken, raising it above the level of the heart reduces the flow of blood to the wound. Combine this with firm pressure on the wound to control the bleeding.
