You are waiting for the ambulance with a conscious but injured casualty. How should you care for them?

- Give them a hot drink and some foodأعطِه مشروباً ساخناً وبعض الطعام
- Keep them warm, comfortable and reassured, but give nothing to eat or drinkأبقِه دافئاً ومرتاحاً ومطمئناً، لكن لا تعطِه شيئاً ليأكله أو يشربهإجابة صحيحة
- Encourage them to walk about to stay alertشجّعه على المشي ليبقى منتبهاً
- Leave them alone so they can rest quietlyاتركه وحده ليستريح بهدوء
لماذا؟
ينص الملحق السابع (Annex 7) من قانون الطريق على أن تُبقي المصاب دافئاً ومرتاحاً وأن تطمئنه بهدوء، لكن دون أن تعطيه شيئاً ليأكله أو يشربه. فالبقاء معه وتهدئته يساعدان على تقليل آثار الصدمة (shock).
Annex 7 of The Highway Code says you should keep an injured casualty warm and comfortable and reassure them calmly, but do not give them anything to eat or drink. Staying with them and keeping them calm helps reduce the effects of shock.
