You're on a motorway in very heavy rain. Spray from lorries is cutting your visibility. What should you do?
أنت على طريق سريع في مطر غزير جدًا. رذاذ الماء (spray) المتطاير من الشاحنات يقلّل رؤيتك. ماذا يجب أن تفعل؟
- Move closer to the vehicle in front to follow its lightsاقترب أكثر من المركبة التي أمامك لتتبع أضوائها
- Switch on your main beam to see through the sprayشغّل ضوءك العالي (main beam) لترى عبر الرذاذ
- Drop back and switch on your dipped headlights so you can see and be seenابقَ متأخرًا وشغّل أضواءك المنخفضة (dipped headlights) لترى ويراك الآخرونإجابة صحيحة
- Turn on your hazard lights and keep your speed upشغّل أضواء التحذير (hazard) وأبقِ سرعتك عالية
لماذا؟
تنص القاعدة 227 من قانون الطريق على أن مسافات التوقف تتضاعف على الأقل في المطر، وأن المطر والرذاذ (spray) يجعلان الرؤية وأن يراك الآخرون أصعب. ابقَ متأخرًا بمسافة كافية واستخدم الأضواء المنخفضة (dipped headlights)؛ فالضوء العالي ينعكس عن الرذاذ ويزيد الوهج.
Rule 227 of The Highway Code says wet weather at least doubles your stopping distance, and rain and spray make it hard to see and be seen. Drop well back and use dipped headlights; main beam would only reflect off the spray and dazzle you.
